79 cent shampoo conditioner that doesnt suck

So I’ve heard some great things about Vo5 Passion Fruit Smoothie Shampoo and Conditioner lately and when I saw it on sale at CVS for 79 cents a bottle about a month ago, I figured I’d finally give it a try (regular price is 99 cents, I believe).

Target tips and info

I’ve got to say that if you have fine, straight or wavy hair, these products are pretty awesome for the price. I’ve got fine hair (but lots of it) and it’s oily at the roots, dry on the ends. I’m constantly looking for products that cleanse well, but gently, and don’t weight my hair down or leave it frizzy. It’s a tall order, especially for a 79-cent product, but these products happen to meet all of my needs.

The shampoo produces a nice, thick lather and the smell is delish (exactly what you would imagine a passion fruit smoothie to smell like). It rinses well and your hair doesn’t feel like straw afterward.

The conditioner is thin and runny but it works well considering the texture. It conditions to the point where you feel like you actually used conditioner, but it definitely doesn’t deep conditioner. The detangling properties aren’t amazing, but I wasn’t expecting much in that area anyway. (Plus, I always use my secret weapon after cleansing my hair, which helps with detangling and the general appearance of my hair in any situation.)

One other thing I’d like to note: I wasn’t expecting these products to help with my curls, but WOW, I can’t believe how curly my hair is after using them. Added bonus! I think that because these products don’t weight down the hair, it helps enable your curls to be springy and full of life. I really believe that they could add “curl enhancing” to the label on these.

Final Analysis: I’ve been using both the shampoo and conditioner off and on for about a month now and I can honestly say that they leave my hair shiny, soft, and super manageable. My curls are springy and defined, but when I straighten my hair the results are fabulous as well. Either way, I’m left with soft, shiny hair that is easy to work with and I’ve never had frizzies or flyaways when using these products. I’m not sure how they would work if your hair is thick and coarse, or if you have very dry hair, but on my hair it doesn’t seem to add any dryness, which is all you can really hope for in such an inexpensive product anyway, right?

its that time again halloween beauty displays 2010

When I was out and about this weekend I couldn’t believe I spotted some Halloween makeup displays at Rite Aid. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Halloween, but it’s not even Labor Day yet!

My favorite blush of the moment (possibly of the year)

Anyway, I wanted to show you the new displays–some of them are almost identical to last year’s, but some are new (to me at least). As any good drugstore makeup lover knows, Halloween displays sometimes contain a few hidden gems that can be used all year around, and I think I spotted one or two in this year’s crop, so let’s get to the pics.

I remember seeing these polishes last year but I never got around to purchasing one. The concept is that you can either twist the lid and use the fine-point brush to make stripes, or you can pull the lid off and squeeze the polish onto your nails to make designs. If you’ve owned one of these, I’d love to hear from you. Do they work?

Here’s the first of several new Halloween goodies from Fantasy Makers. For those of you who don’t know, Fantasy Makers is a Halloween-specific line made by Wet n Wild. This year they’ve released two kits that come with palettes and accompanying stencils for face-painting. The palettes look like they’re all cream shadow/paints (glitters, mattes and shimmers) but I could be wrong. Maybe there are some powders in there as well, but I don’t think so.

giveopp announces huge humanitarian scheme donations

In a recent announcement by Mark Crosby of GiveOpp, the company stated that it was going to donate 80% of all profits made to humanitarian causes around the world. This extraordinarily generous gesture could see millions of dollars pledged in aid to help vulnerable and needy communities in some of the world’s poorest countries. Even before the recent company launch that took place on July 4, GiveOpp had already begun several schemes through relationships formed with various non-profit and research agencies. This valuable contribution could see a vast improvement in the lives of many millions of people around the globe.

GiveOpp is the brainchild of Don Glanville, the man responsible for the phenomenally successful Liberty League International and the Quicklister marketing system. He also created the Reverse Funnel System that saw the Global Resorts Network catapulted from mediocrity into the most successful home network business of 2007. This marketing system was so successful that Carbon Copy Pro soon copied the formula and used it in its own network marketing business.

With Don Glanville at the helm, GiveOpp is virtually guaranteed global success and potential members are advised to sign up early to maximize their earning potential.
